I want to start reading.?

One trick I followed when I started reading was, I would go to a bookstore or a library, start picking up random novels from the shelves, read the back jacket and then see if the story seemed interesting and then pick them..I would pick from all kinds of genres.mystery, fantasy, drama, romance, classics, horror, YA, teen just about everything.you would generally find your genre. Also when picking books, dont worry about impressing people with what you have read! That is the easiest way to get off books! You forget to enjoy what you are reading and it becomes a task! I have found that all the people who truly love reading, started as kids and they have read all sorts of stuff! So just do what you like. The world does not get to set expectations of what you should read! Dont start with heavy or serious! Do fun read like mysteries or YA or even kids stuff! I still love reading Enid Blyton (even after more than 1500 books)! If I may be so bold as to recommend, you could explore Agatha Christie in mystery (unless you wanna go younger and do Nancy Drew, Enid Blyton, Hardy Boys, Secret Seven, Famous Five etc.). The first one I read (Seven Dials Mystery) got me hooked on the genre! For fantasy, you could start with Harry Potter series or Tom Holt. P.G. Wodehouse -Jeeves series for comedy, or try Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, etc. for easy family stories. Just read whatever appeals to you. And pick thinner books so you can finish them easily and actually start liking books!
